Mulled Crimson Punch

by Karina Bulate of the Mocktail Corner

'Tis the season to indulge...

A deep burgundy coloured mulled wine drink in a tall glass mug with gold leaf around it

What's in it:

This recipe serves approximately 4-6 people.

Garnish:

  • Citrus slices (orange, lemon, and/or lime)

  • Extra cinnamon sticks

  • Extra star anise

Glass: glass mug

Technique: cook

How to make it:

  1. Pour the Belvoir Farm Non-Alcoholic Mulled Winter Punch into a large pot.

  2. Add the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.

  3. Stir in 60 ml (2 oz) of Lyre’s Orange Sec Liqueur.

  4. Sweeten with 2 to 4 tablespoons of your preferred sweetener (sugar, honey, or maple syrup) to taste.

  5. Warm the mixture over medium heat, bringing it to a simmer. Do not let it boil.

  6. Once heated through, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.

  7. Strain out the solids and serve the punch warm.

To Serve:

  • Ladle the punch into mugs and garnish with additional citrus slices, cinnamon sticks, or star anise if desired.
