RTD stands for 'ready to drink'. It's a simple term used to describe pre-made cocktails that you can pop and pour without any additional effort.
The Mojito is possibly the most loved cocktail across different ages, cultures and lifestyles. Even my dear old mum was knocking them back on her 75th birthday like a dessert camel.
Here are five (plus one for luck) RTD Mojitos for the low/no/light drinker to enjoy on the go. These are great to bring to parties, take on picnics or for those 'journey juice moments' when you want to start your outing with something delicious but without the messiness of the booze.
Savyll
Packed with a fresh mint aroma that wallops you as soon as you open the can. Savyll's range of sophisticated RTD cocktails brings an adult feel to any occasion.
You can hear more about Savyll from founder Avnish Babla on ep#44 of the Low No Drinker Podcast.
Belvoir
I was pleasantly surprised by Belvoir's Mojito. Tangy and flavoursome, the mint isn't quite as prominent as others, but the yuzu adds another dimension that makes it mouth-wateringly moreish.
Sir James 101
This is a beautifully refreshing, full-bodied drink with a beautiful tang of well-balanced acidity. The only thing it needs is a touch more mint to fully tick that Mojito check box, but as it stands, it's a pretty damn tasty AF cocktail.
Caleño
Caleño non-alc spirits are all about bringing the party to your non-alc glass, and this Mojito does just that. It's vibrant and easy drinking with a good hit of lime. Add ice and a fresh sprig of mint to really bring out the flavours.
Ish
Created using fresh spearmint from Morocco and a "unique distillate using the shells from chilli seeds to provide the satisfying heat."
And one more for our international Low No Nation citizens:
Edna's
Based in British Columbia, Edna's was founded by two Brits who named the brand after the cockney rhyming slang for beverage (Edna Everage). This Mojito is light and fresh with just the right amount of acidity.
